Oct 10-13, 2006 SRD was invited to present at the DHS/HSARPA hosted conference Chemical and Biological Countermeasure Technologies for Homeland Security in Boulder, CO. SRD’s Director of Technology Development, Brent Marquis, updated DHS on new developments in chemical detection, including the most recent test results of our Lightweight Autonomous Chemical Identification System (LACIS). SRD's LACIS detectors are based on an array of chemically selective SMO and P-SAW microsensors. The use of two separate detection technologies reduced the false alarm rate to less than 1% for nearly all industrial chemicals.
