Founded in 1993 by Mr. Carl Freeman, Sensor Research and Development Corporation (SRD) has established itself as a premier solid-state chemical gas sensor research and development (R&D) source for the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Energy.

SRD utilizes semi-conducting metal oxides (SMO) and sophisticated algorithms to provide real-time, highly selective and sensitive detectors for a broad range of chemical agents, toxic industrial chemicals and explosives. Applications of our technology include flue gas monitoring, handheld detectors for warfare agents, facility monitors, food safety and security, and collective and personal protection monitors.

SRD also developed and delivers both standard and custom product lines of fully automated precision gas delivery and monitoring systems. Federal Government laboratories, major Defense Contractors and University Research Labs are among SRD’s customers currently utilizing these systems.

SRD is a veteran-owned small business with 23 employees and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. SRD’s research team includes electrical, mechanical, and computer engineers, material scientists, physical and analytical chemists. Our staff holds seven PhDs and has a unique expertise in SMO sensor materials development, solid-state microelectronics and signal processing.

SRD Corp. is a member of the NBC Industry Group , an association of over 140 companies and organizations supporting nuclear, biological and chemical defense.
